OMG, Bella. Your life does not need to revolve around him.
And you guys don’t need to nit-pick at someone’s writing style. For fuck’s sake, if you don’t like the books then don’t read them and shut up about them. Read something else. When people do this, it makes me terrified to write. “What if nit-pick at my writing like that? What if I screw something up? What if it sounds awkward?” I’m terrified. I hate how all these people loathe Stephenie Meyer just because they hate Twilight, the books, movies, and fandom. She did what she wanted to do, is that so bad?
- “If you don’t like it, don’t read it, wah-wah-wah…” — THIS
- Oh, honey… I understand where you’re coming from, but I’m probably one of the last people on the planet who will be influenced by the idea that this kind of criticism paralyzes your ability to write. You’re worried about being a shitty writer? GOOD. You should worry. It shows that you give a fuck. Edit your writing. Try to craft your writing instead of mashing the keyboard. Become motivated to write bullet-proof prose.
POTENTIAL LITERARY CRITICISM DOES NOT MAKE YOU ANY LESS A SHITTY WRITER. YOUR SHITTY WRITING MAKES YOU A SHITTY WRITER. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEING A SHITTY WRITER, TRY HARD NOT TO BE A SHITTY WRITER.
I love RWV for this exact reason. Because in listening to her pick apart Twilight, I become a better writer. There are things that I used to do in writing (like sentence mini-vans. Nay, sentence buses) that I am now much more conscious of not doing (and the grammar of that sentence is all wonky). Rather than go WOEEEEEE BEING MEAN TO WRITERS, aspiring writers should read RWV, so they know what NOT to do. :P
More Crystal Ridge neighborhood shots! I wish I knew how to get rid of the “cliff at the edge of the world” look, but I still like it. :D
I started moving families and lots in order to make it feel more town-like. There are currently two main areas: this is the “town” area, where you can see the Maximus (middle top), Moonberry (purple with plumbbob), and Maximus B (blue with blue car) lots, the green house that is going to be Hannah’s when she comes back from college, the school, park, museum, sports field, and various shops. :D
Bobby and Mehrissa Maximus are GOING TO KILL ME. That said, their kids are bloody adorable. This is Calanthe, one of the SIX KIDS born to them in Week 9. O_O
